Kelly, 19, Wales. I like cats, reading, and food.

Began and finished reading The Subtle Knife today

I’m actually shocked. By both the speed of my reading and the story itself.

The book was amazing, it is told from the perspective of several different people including Lyra Belacqua, Lee Scoresby, Serafina Pekkala and a boy called Will Parry.

One of the things I have learnt by reading Philip Pullman’s books are that his endings are not…happy? Or at least not unrealistically happy. Either way, my mind is pretty much blown.

Hopefully, i’ll start reading The Amber Spyglass on Monday.

At 2:40 this morning I finished reading Northern Lights

I didn’t stay up just to finish the book, my cat was spayed yesterday so I stayed up with her to stop her from licking the stitched up wound. I can honestly say that the book is so much better than the film. I wasn’t expecting a huge difference between them but I was so shocked.

I much prefer book Lyra & Pantalaimon, and Lord Asriel seems a lot scarier than Daniel Craig portrays him to be. So much more happens in the story and each character has so much more depth.

I’m really excited to start reading The Subtle Knife, I can only assume its going to be as good.
